The Challenge

Gabrielle Baumeyer was already successful. A thriving consulting and coaching business, years spent working with community leaders, a career built on helping other people find their voice. And yet she felt like she was hiding.

“I had to go through all the reasons not to,” Gabrielle says. “The time, the money, my husband’s gonna say no, my story’s not good enough. I had to go through the litany of why not in order to get to why to do it.”

That is the quiet truth behind so many accomplished women. Success on paper does not always mean your own voice has been heard. Gabrielle knew there was another level of visibility waiting for her, but getting there alone felt like too much to carry.

THE SOLUTION

What finally moved Gabrielle forward was not pressure. It was persistence paired with space.

“She kept following up with me and she kept giving me exactly what I needed in order to get to my yes,” Gabrielle says of her experience with Mel Carr and the Six-Figure Chicks, Houston Vol 1 collaborative book. “What she gave me most was space just to think and just to really contemplate.”

She also found something she had not expected: she would not be doing this alone. “Wouldn’t it be great to do it with a dozen other women so I don’t have to do it alone. So it all added up. One plus one did in fact equal two. And here I am.”
Gabrielle chose to open her chapter with a story from her childhood, the moment she first sensed what she was meant to do. It was a deliberate choice.

"I was very deliberate in making it the beginning story," she explains. "It was deliberate because I was ready to share who I am and what I'm about."

The Results

The book became something Gabrielle never expected: a launchpad.

Within weeks of publishing, she was booked to speak at a women’s leadership event produced by RHP Wealth Management during International Women’s Month. Her booking fee included copies of her book for attendees, something event producers now see as a value add, not an afterthought. Guests walked away with a physical piece of the movement in their hands, something that ties them back to the event and to Gabrielle long after the day ends.

“I thought that I was going to co-author a book and it was going to be something that was shared to a small circle of people, my family, my friends, my immediate colleagues,” Gabrielle says. “And then I realized that there is something bigger here at play.”

The ripple effect reached beyond her own story. Gabrielle now sees her work as an executive coach through a new lens. “People do want to be heard. They want to make a difference. They want to matter.” Her book gave her a foundation to build on, and a credibility asset that opens doors before she ever walks into a room.

“I’ve gotten more grounded in who I am,” she says. “I’ve gotten more grounded in what I want to say to people and how I want to listen to people and what I see as possible for them.”

In Her Own Words

The fear that almost stopped her

“I still feel like that pretty much every day with whatever is in front of me. Intimidation doesn’t go away. And take the step anyway.”

What the book unlocked for her business

“Having the book presents me with the opportunity to share more of my story, and to eventually work with people to have their story be told too.”

The community she gained

“I didn’t get here alone. So let’s just keep going together.”

Gabrielle’s chapter was one small piece of her full story. It became the opening line of a much bigger chapter in her career. If you are sitting on your own story, wondering if it is worth telling, Gabrielle has an answer for you.

“What’s the worst thing that can happen, really? Go ahead, be intimidated. It’s okay. It’s natural. And then take the action anyway if you want to.”
